The common problem that occurs in the pediatric population who has gone through a difficult labor process is the presence of cerebral palsy. The problem is a very grave one because of the various complications that can occur in the pediatric population. The child who is affected by this problem, which may be incurable, needs a lot of care and attention. Many parents are not able to provide such care to the child.

The pediatric population who are suffering from the disease needs a lot of physical therapy in the early stages. After a few years, when the child has been able to learn some repetitive movements, then the child can be taught by the occupational therapists to start on some vocation. This will help the child to have a meaningful life.

It is very important for the health care professional to plan for the health care of the child as soon as the child is born. The Pediatric ward may be the first place where the child is identified as having a problem as there could be some delay in the development of the milestones. As the child grows, there could be various activities that the child is not able to do and this helps to reinforce the diagnosis.

The use of Physical therapy will help the child to become more independent. The child is taught various movements; the family is also involved in the therapy that is taught in various sessions. Play therapy and pool therapy are the two methods in which the child can be taught to do the various exercises. This will help in stretching the various muscles and also strengthening them for the child to have useful movement to be possible. As the child grows, these movements can be used Occupational therapists in the creation of meaningful work that the child can be taught to do.
